About the Beach
What is Praia do Cabedelo do Douro Beach?
It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia.
Praia do Cabedelo do Douro Beach, also known as Praia da Foz do Douro Beach, belong to the mouth of Rio Douro1 by the south margin.It is located in a very vast sandbank with nearly 1 km long.
This beach is integrated in the Reserva Natural Local do Estuário do Douro2. Here, takes place the annually famous summer festival called Marés Vivas.
On the opposite margin of the river it's possible to sight the Zona do Passeio Alegre3 and the Forte de São João Baptista4.
The access is available by Avenida Beira Mar5 or through Avenida Deoceliano Monteiro6.
