About the Beach
What is Praia da Foz do Sizandro Beach?
It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Torres Vedras.
Praia da Foz do Sizandro Beach is, as the name suggests, the place where the Rio Sizandro1 empties.
In drier times of the year the river bar is closed by the extensive stretch of sand, prolonging the beach until the south cliff.
This beach is attended by surf fans and fishermen.
The access bridge over the river to bathing area, allows reaching the sand from Gentias village side, by the dirt open area used for car parking.
