About the Beach
What is Praia de Santo André Beach?
It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Póvoa de Varzim.
Praia de Santo André Beach displays a very far-reaching sand that serves the urban front of Santo André locality. In the south part is located the Cabo de Santo André1.
During the early morning of November 30th takes place the Festa de Santo André. The fishing community moves along the sand until the Capela de Santo André2, built in the sixteenth-century for praying purposes. Nearby, one finds the Penedo do Santo3 that according the legend has the footprint of Santo André himself.
The access is achieved by turning from Estrada Nacional 134 to Avenida de Santo André5.
