About the Beach
What is Praia de Leça da Palmeira Beach?
It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Matosinhos.
Praia de Leça da Palmeira Beach is located in the urban sea front of the city sharing the same name. It is part of the Rio Leça1 mouth by the north margin and located beside Marina Porto Atlântico2.
This beach has a very long and really wide sand, bathed by an agitated sea very much appreciated by surfers.
To the north lies the Piscina das Marés3, an artificial salty water pool. Nearby, the area with a bar and between rocks is known as Praia da Meia Laranja Beach.
Further south, there's a pier belonging to Porto de Leixões4 facilities with an astonishing length of about 2 Km.
Access is granted by Avenida da Liberdade5.
