Description
Through Calçada de Santo Amaro1 we make our way up to the Chapel2 with the same name, where the peaceful Viewpoint of Santo Amaro graciously awaits.
A small terrace built on a traditional Portuguese sidewalk, is harboured by the church built in , over Alcântara, half-height and very close to Ponte 25 de Abril3.
It’s not a wide perspective viewpoint per se, however, the cosy and intimate look invite us to take a sit on the wall, right below the few planted trees, especially if we get here by walking under the warm summer sun.
The main character in this beautiful scenery is the Bridge! Nor the Cristo-Rei on the other side of the Rio Tejo4 over the Almada’s cliff, or the Porto de Lisboa5 cranes would be able to take its place.
On our left, we glimpse a little bit more of Lisbon than the city’s traditional red roofs.
