Description
A small cobblestone square with two wooden benches pleasantly surrounded by the shade of two olive trees, make the scenery of the Viewpoint of Penha de França, located on the Rua Marques da Silva1, opposite to the Igreja da Nossa Senhora Penha de França2.
The square is rather small, however, the wide perspective reaches the innermost and neighbouring towns of Lisbon.
Right before us, we have Praça do Chile’s3 intersection, hidden by the buildings’ height. Highlighted by the surrounding urbanization, in the background, are two black and symmetrical buildings that belong to the Instituto Superior Técnico.
Slightly to the left, densely wooded, Rua Pascoal de Melo4 extends bound to Largo Dona Estefânia5.
On the perspective’s far right, we sight Rio Tejo6 running through the pillars of Ponte Vasco da Gama7, a riverside location also known as Mar da Palha8.
