Viewpoinf Keil do Amaral

For the more inattentive ones, the Viewpoint Keil do Amaral goes completely unnoticed in the middle of the forest.

The shorter way to access the viewpoint may be done through the car parking of Moinho do Penedo¹, crossing the basketball field towards Alameda Keil do Amaral². To the left of the Anfiteatro Keil do Amaral³ we follow through a dirt trail leading to the forest interior that takes us to the first level of the viewpoint.

The end of the route brings us the surprise of a dark stone structure, gardened and unfolded into three square areas over the landscape, with more privative nooks where we can site and contemplate the landscape over Lisbon. The surrounding environment is intimate and very romantic, like if nature had wished to share with us this little secret of Serra de Monsanto⁴.

Behind the viewpoint is stretched a long gardened corridor, leading us to the upper level of the viewpoint by a stairway located to the left, nearly halfway. Unfortunately, the perspective from here is almost none, the trees are really tall and cover the whole vision field. We feel in perfect harmony with the disposition of all the elements, the pine trees growing from the Portuguese pavement offer freshness and shadow and the water element is present in a beautiful triangular pond close to the ground.
