About the Beach
What is Praia Nova Beach?
It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Ílhavo.
Praia Nova Beach, inserted in Praia da Barra Beach, discloses a very extensive sand of about 1,3 Km. It is much frequented by the guests of Parque de Campismo da Praia da Barra1.
Calm sea waters protected by piers announce the entrance of the Ria de Aveiro2.
The dune system appears in the shape of a thin string that gets a little bit larger in the south area.
This beach displays the Blue Flag since , year when it was implemented all around Europe.
Access can be done by ferry boat to the north, through Autoestrada 253 coming from the west or via Estrada Municipal 5924 if one comes from the south.
