About the Beach
What is Praia do Banho Beach?
It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Sines.
Praia do Banho Beach acquired its name for being the place where the annual tradition of bathing at 29th of August occurs. It's believed that this baths have a regenerative purpose brought by the blessing of São João Baptista to these waters.
The small dimensions sand is surrounded by cliffs. During low tide its area practically doubles size.
The access is done by a stairway on the south side of the cliff.
