About the Beach

What is Praia de Aver-o-Mar Beach?

It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Póvoa de Varzim.

Praia de Aver-o-Mar Beach is situated in the sea front of town. Its extensive sand comprises several rock formations by seaside and a few more, dozen meters off shore.
The ripple can present erratic due to being broken by boulders in the water.
Under certain weather conditions it is recommended to pay attention to the currents that can be formed.
This beach is very frequented during summer time because of easy accessibility.
Access is done along Avenida Jardim da Praia1 or by Rua do Sargaceiro2.
