What is Praia do Homem do Leme Beach?

It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Porto.

Praia do Homem do Leme Beach acquired its name due to the bronze statue here built in tribute to fishermen, "O Homem do Leme1".
The extensive sand is exposed to the constant north winds, especially in the northern part.
Here, empties piped the Ribeira de Nevogilde2.
Further south, sea waters are calmer because of protection provided by a rock formation situated at the center and a pier bounding the beach to the south.
The access is available by Avenida de Montevideu3.
