It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Portimão.

Praia do Barranco das Canas Beach, also known has Praia do Alemão Beach, it's inserted in a slightly pronounced bay, belonging to Praia do Vau Beach. It has a very extensive sand along an orange cliff.
At southeast may be sighted a group of fourteen large rocks and the Ponta de João de Arens.
The sea waters are usually calm and of a light blue color.
At the ends, the beach is bounded by cliff ledges that separate this beach from the other ones.
