About the Beach
What is Praia da Marreta Beach?
It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Ovar.
Praia da Marreta Beach presents a very extensive with about 2,5 Km.
The dune system is gorgeous and very well preserved and to the east lie the pinewood and the most northern branch of the Ria de Aveiro1.
The best access is done via Furadouro by walking through the sand. If one tries to enter the forest for the most direct route, coming from Estrada Nacional 3272, a gate bars the way. Further ahead the road floor becomes sandy, only passable with appropriate vehicle.
