About the Beach
What is Praia de Almograve Beach?
It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Odemira.
Praia de Almograve Beach, also known as Praia Grande Beach, has a very extensive and wide sand located near Almograve village.
The sea waters are a little rough, due to the waves breaking against immersed rocks along the bathing area.
Huge dunes arise on top of the cliff.
At north, a cliff edge called Ponta dos Azulejos acts as a boundary, while the other one called Ponta da Ilha at the opposite side, bounds it to the south.
In the center lies the iconic Rocha Furada. From this point to south, the sand is known by Meia Praia Beach.
The access is done via three stairways along the cliff.
