About the Beach
What is Praia da Descida da Areia Beach?
It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Marinha Grande.
Praia da Descida da Areia Beach is located in the north part of São Pedro the Moel village. The sand of small dimensions is protected from winds by cliffs which are topped by wooden walkways.
On the north side of the cliff, arises imposing the Farol do Penedo da Saudade1, announcing to the horizon its 32 meters height.
The bathing area is speckled here and there by rocks and low tide shortens the route to a smaller sandy area to the south, accessible to those who dare to get wet.
This beach is usually attended by the guests of the campsite Orbitur S. Pedro de Moel that is less than 200 meters away into inland.
