About the Beach
What is Praia das Escadinhas Beach?
It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Mafra.
Praia das Escadinhas Beach presents a very long sand, situated on the foot of a high and steep cliff.
In terms of size and knowledge of the public in general, this beach is without any doubt, the biggest secret on the coast of Mafra county.
The access to the cliff top is achieved by following Estrada Nacional 247 towards southwest of Charneca village, turning then to the right into Rua da Estalagem. After 100 meters, one turns right again to Rua Praia das Escadinhas, until finding the dirt road and follows in the sea direction. To attend the sand, it is strongly recommended to access by sea resorting to a vessel or through Praia da Calada Beach to the south, during low tide.
