Viewpoint of Edifício Banco Popular

With the renewal of the Plan for Rehabilitation of the Campolide Campus, were constructed two office buildings for banking entities, from where resulted an open air viewpoint on top of one of their supporting garages. We had the liberty to name it Viewpoint of Edifício do Banco Popular.

The annex space to the right margin of the building's first floor, is situated between Rua da Mesquita¹ ? the same street of Mesquita de Lisboa² ? and Rua Ramalho Ortigão³, very close to Praça de Espanha⁴.

It is a cam and modern place, mostly frequented by employees of Banco Popular⁵ during their labor pauses.

The wide steps of dark tone descend into an ample space that ends in a balcony with a porch. The existing benches beneath its shadow aren't inviting for sitting due being too low and those who sit can't see the landscape. Perhaps they weren't built for that purpose, probably they'll serve as support for a visitor's small luggage while addressing the panoramic.

Far, it's audible the constant sound of water flowing. We realize that there's a pond and a fountain behind the only vegetation on site.

Despite its modernity, the viewpoint has no touristic interest, it is found at low height and doesn't have a perspective for any relevant point. The only highlight is uniquely the contrast between the modern towers mixed with the older urban part of the city of Lisbon.
