About the Beach
What is Praia da Fateixa Beach?
It's an Oceanic Beach in the northern hemisphere bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, located on the coast of Portugal - Iberian Peninsula - in the municipality of Aljezur.
Praia da Fateixa Beach got this name because here was found an anchor used in small vessels, called "Fateixa". A very extensive sand, always accompanied by the cliff, is reduced to a thin stretch of sand during high tide.
The bathing area is filled with rocks and when the tide is low, it is common to see some shellfish pickers and anglers.
The access is achieved through the village of Vale da Telha, by following northwest until finding a bifurcation near to Praia de Monte Clérigo village. Turn left to the dirt road to the sea direction. Head south for about 80 meters and you'll find one of the cliff trails descending into the sand, the other, is located in the south end of the beach.
